To a deserted island.
On the way back from Champaign today Dean and I made lists of what we would take with us if we were each sent to a deserted island tomorrow.
5 CDs:
- Arcade Fire - Neon Bible
- Weezer - Pinkerton
- Bright Eyes - Fevers and Mirrors
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever to Tell
- Rilo Kiley - The Initial Friend EP
10 objects not including clothes or food:
- The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand. Because it rocks my world and i read it at least once a year.
- Accordion. I’ll have lots of time to learn how to play it and will play all the songs on my ipod on it.
- IPod
- A book on how to speak Italian (the audio part would be on my ipod)
- Notebook. for my thoughts and frustrations.
- Pen. To write in the notebook.
- Digital Camera. I like to take pictures.
- Ulysses by James Joyce. Because i have yet to crack the code that he writes in.
- A Sailboat which i understand i am not allowed to escape with.
- The biggest comprehensive book on WWI and WWII and the time in between and the aftermath. (if this book really exists you should let me know, because i’ve been searching.

- My iPod
- A DVD player/TV combo
- Stolen Kisses the film by Francois Truffaut. If I had to only watch one film for the rest of my life it would probably be this.
- A dog. Probably a Golden Retriever.
- This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald
- A really big book of crossword puzzles.
- A notebook
- A pen
- A coffee maker. I’m assuming I would be able to find coffee beans on the island. And roast them.
- The most comprehensive science book in existence, covering a wide array of subjects.
